Nore Barn Woods is an attractive area of public open space in Emsworth, adjacent to the shore of Chichester Harbour. Access for walkers is  via the end of Warblington Road              where it is possible for a small number of cars to park.

Formed in 2002, The Friends of Nore Barn Woods is a group of volunteers who aim to conserve and make the woods more pleasant for the general public. The Friends are affiliated to The Conservation Volunteers.             and work closely with the owner of the woods, Havant Borough Council.

Over the last few years The Friends have:

  • Created open glades to allow in more light, to increase habitat diversity
  • Planted over 300 tree and hedge saplings to replace dead and dying growth
  • Encouraged Havant Borough Council to improve the paths
  • Worked with the local police to minimise vandalism
  • Raised grants of over 14000 for resurfacing the Wayfarers Walk
  • Raised grants of over 75000 to conserve 100m of shoreline
  • Provided an information board and notice board
